Depending on our perception of the world, we can come across simple events and turn them into disastrous results. This is quite common in individuals who tend to overuse the expression "I think". Sometimes, "I think" is a hasty conclusion without being certain of what happened. In addition to this not very correct way of thinking and acting, there are several other aspects of perception that lead us to emotional discomfort. Psychology seeks to work on these and several other aspects of human thought in order to achieve a healthier and happier life.
